Product development is the core of what we do. And pattern making and prototyping are the pulsating heart of the process.
This exciting journey starts from a creative idea that arrives in Cieffe where it is brought to life through various phases, from the paper pattern to the first prototype to the sample garment before moving on to production.
A path in which virtuosity and technology intertwine seamlessly with the aim to deliver top-quality results within the established time frames.
We are now able to manage the prototyping phase also through 3D technology, with virtual fittings that allow significant time savings and eliminate fabric waste, thus reducing the environmental impact.

01 Research and innovation
The Research and Development department is our crown jewel. A unique reality constantly reinforced over the years to provide customers with innovative stimuli, proposals, solutions, and techniques, tailored to their tastes and positioning.
Our dedicated team researches fabrics and accessories, and develops exclusive processes, embroideries, prints, finishes, and innovative washes. The research is carried out both by hand and using advanced machinery, both internally or through specialized external laboratories.

From sketch to pattern
02 Pattern lab
We have an outstanding tradition and solid pattern making expertise.
There are about 40 pattern makers on our team. It all starts with a sketch that we receive from the design studios of our customers that is step-by-step transformed into a sample.
Our expert pattern makers interpret each one masterfully creating patterns for the main product categories: outerwear, dresses, shirts, skirts, trousers, and even beachwear.
Every year, we develop around 12,000 new patterns in‑house.
From the pattern to the finished garment
03 Tailoring
After the modeling and cutting phases, our seamstresses create the first prototype that will be further fitted and perfected before being approved by the customer.
At this stage, technology supports the crafting skills of our seamstresses, who follow the prototype until its approval, making sure it fully reflects the original idea to ensure the full satisfaction of our customers.
